GTA new hotel sourcing structure reflects partner priorities

New structure reflects the global marketplace and parallels between Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (APMEA) as Andrew Hughes becomes VP Hotel Sourcing for the region. James Phillips becomes VP Hotel Sourcing for the Americas as Clive Wood, Head of Commercial Hotel Chains and Supplier Integration relocates to the USA to be closer to the headquarters of international hotel brands and further strengthen GTA’s partnerships.

Leading travel distributor GTA has made changes to its sourcing structure and management to reflect the global marketplace and better align its activities with its supplier partners. With markets across the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific exhibiting similar characteristics and growth trends, GTA has established an APMEA region with hotel sourcing led by Vice President Andrew Hughes.

Hotel Sourcing in the Americas region will now be led by Vice President James Phillips. Previously Vice President Hotel Sourcing for Europe, Middle East and Africa, James will move to New York from London to take up his new role from 1 June 2014.

Clive Wood, Head of Commercial Hotel Chains and Supplier Integration is also relocating to the USA from London to be closer to the headquarters of international hotel brands. His move will enable GTA to further strengthen its long standing chain partnerships and give travel sellers access to a chain’s full portfolio of properties including the ‘long tail’ of accommodation in less familiar locations.

Martin Jones, Senior Vice President for Global Sourcing & Commercial Management says: “We have aligned our sourcing structure to reflect changes in the global landscape. Our mature European markets continue to drive growth and remain a primary focus for GTA, while the creation of an APMEA structure further demonstrates our commitment to supporting the growth of our trade partners across the region.

“I am delighted to bring James’ and Clive’s industry experience to the Americas. Complemented by our existing team of sourcing professionals we are extremely well placed to continue building on our success across the continent.”

GTA is currently recruiting a new Vice President of Hotel Sourcing for Europe to succeed James Phillips, completing the senior leadership team.
